wanted Barcode reader to stock database application

    Hi I am looking for any barcode reader /scanning source code 
    application , i have not touched barcode scanning at all , so looking for some starter information or application for ideas  , to take in a usb barcode scanner to perhaps a Mysql database for stock control of electronic components .

    Almost all USB barcode scanners emulate the keyboard. Simply have an edit control on a form, give it focus and scan your barcode

    You may also want to check the configuration of your barcode scanner, it is usually in the documentation. Typically you need to scan a few codes to configure the reader, the most important ones are:
    -the termination character, whether a <CR> or a <TAB> is sent after the scan (to trigger a response from you app)
    -whether shift HIDE-THANKS is emulated or not. 
    For scanning EAN/UPC codes, the other options are not that relevant, the reader acts as  a virtual keyboard
